Oklahoma State was initially arranged to face Tulsa last Saturday but that game has been rescheduled for September 19. Brown was pleased with the Mountaineers’ total efficiency in the opener however he knows the standards will be higher as they enter the heart of their conference schedule.
“Our discipline and our attention to detail need to enhance as soon as we enter into league play,” Brown said. The Cowboys are the last team to beat the Mountaineers. They did so on Senior Day last November in Morgantown in a 20-13 defensive fight.” Both individuals have a lots of individuals coming back. Schematically, neither side is most likely going to make a good deal of adjustments. I believe there is a great deal of familiarity there just because we played so late in the season in 2015.” Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy In a one-sided season opener, West Virginia’s offensive and protective technique were rather fundamental versus EKU.”We ran a good deal of plays offensively– 86 and I think we potentially had actually
90 called as soon as you get charges. However we called typically whatever we prepared to coming into the video game. We were rather standard and that is what we wished to do. A good deal of that was because of the really first video game. A few of that was since of the youth that we were playing, a lot of men were in their first action.”Defensively, there were not as lots of calls. We had 49 countable snaps. On function, we did disappoint a lot defensively. “In a special preseason, Brown states the initial strategy was to develop
towards the start of league play. “The nature of the way the calendar was set out, we treated this like a very first computer game
do not get me inaccurate.”We attempted to set the 26th as our indicate get where we are all set football-wise. That’s how we have tackled our preparation. Simply from a personnel perspective, our conditioning and physicality in practice and all of those type of things, participating in the 26th. It will be a mix of a common bye week and a camp-style practice. We will practice a minimum of 4 times today and we’ll do a lot versus each other.”In Saturday’s season-opening win, real freshman signal caller Garrett Greene made his Mountaineer launching. He finished 3-of-4 passes for 43 backyards and got 33 yards on 5 brings.< img src="https://wvmetronews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Garrett-Greene-300x218.jpg"alt= ""width ="362" height ="263"/ > WVU QB Garrett Greene(Photo
by Caleb Saunders/WVU Football) “I was thankful we got to play him. That was the hope participating in the video game that we would get to play him some. He was up and down. He simply made one truly bad option. The time I got on him was because he type of danced on the sideline a little bit, which when you are up at that rating, you do not require to do that. But he plays the video game with outstanding energy.
“He has severe competitiveness, which is a positive. He got the ball out of his hands. He ran the ball effectively. His really first play wasn’t great. He got hit and I believe he gained from that. However he got a great deal of snaps. For a real freshman in his extremely first playing time, I was happy he got in. He will play a great deal of football here.”
